Just this year, Stonebwoy, Kwesi Arthur among other Ghanaian stars flew to Nigeria to partake in their prestigious Soundcity MVP Awards.
As part of their nomination, they were also billed to perform on stage.
Many people especially the Ghanaian music-loving masses couldn’t understand why the fans who were present at the venue hosted in Nigeria were quite while Stoenbwoy was on stage performing.
This may be a result of the comparison between the warm reception that most Nigerian artists receive when they travel down to Ghana to perform as against Ghanaians in their country to perform.
Some people lambasted Nigerians for never showing Ghanaian artists love just as they receive here.
Also, Stonebwoy was subjected to mockery with some haters of his fan base tagging him as a ‘Local Champion’.

Finally, Stonebwoy has reacted to the whole issue.
While speaking to 3FM’s MzGee in an interview, the 1Gad noted that;
“I know the performance was electrifying,” he boasts. “It was an awards night and the best was what they put there.”
“Ghanaians will continue to have this conversation every time… So many factors come to play when this conversation comes. We have to be very mindful of a lot of things to be able to continue to speak or judge. My performance was one of the best for the night.
The people loved it but from what you saw, it’s not what will indicate as the usual Stonebwoy show would have been like. We should not be quick to jump into discussions. I understand the submission and I also expect some level of understanding from the masses.”
